Im not even sure if this would even work due to salaray or other factors but how bout damp for bass and gortat? the magic only need a backup center because dwight is there and we all know what bass can do. The salaries should be around the same(i think since bass was like 16 mil in 4 years and gortat is 5 for 5 mil or so, dont quote me though). The magic get are under the cap for 2010 and the mavs get our center after all. I know even if it was legal and acceptable the trade would be highly unlikely but its nice to dream. Plus we might miss out on someone better but hey, we passed up stephen jackson and look how good he is looking in charlotte. Just an idea not real serious about it, but if it were to happen i would not be upset. ur thoughts?
Gortat cannot br traded to Dallas until 1 full year after he signed a contract with Dallas so we couldnt get him until next summer(he can be traded to any other team now though)
Actually we can trade for him now. After 2 months when he signed the contract the Mavs are free to trade for him. We could have traded for him since mid November.
He never signed a contract w/ us. We offered him a contract but Orlando matched it. When he signed the contract for Orlando, the news was that the only way we get Gortat is w/ a trade w/ Orlando after 2 months and not a year. But like I said it won't happen because Orlando has finally start using him again and he is doing really well.
This is not a bad idea. The problem is that Gortat is finally getting some playing time and the Magic are starting again to realize that they need Gortat. Jermaine O'Neal for Damp would be a good trade. Damp would free up some salary cap room for the Heat. If we can get Kaman, Big Al, or Jason Thompson from the Kings then we might do really well moving forward. We've never had that low post center that we've been missing for the longest time. Marc Gasol is another good young center.
