When Adam Morrision burst on the scene he was being compared to NBA greats like Larry Bird. I think we can all put those comparisons to rest. Morrison is a small forward who can shoot from anywhere on the court. He is a tuff competitor and has a high basketball IQ. So why haven't any other NBA teams given him a shot to make a return to the NBA after falling out of the league two years ago.
I think the answer is simple, perception. He is perceived as being a bust because he was taken so high in the draft and didnt live up to expectations. However; the expectations that were thrust upon him paired with a terrible knee injury and no leadership or organization in Charlotte set this talented player up to fail. He was later shipped to LA where he sank into the backround and eventually faded out of the league.
For the past year he has been playing overseas in Serbia and Turkey. However; after a stint on the Nets Summer league team and now with the Clippers summer team, Morrison is doing what he does best, making jumpers. I truly believe that Morrison has what it takes to be a legit player in the NBA. He's tuff, skilled, young, and has a nasty competitve disposition that you love to have on your team.
Hopefully someone will notice. Maybe the Mavs!
