Mark Followill enters his third season as the television play-by-play voice and his seventh overall with the team. Prior to his move to television, Followill served as the radio play-by-play voice of the Mavericks on ESPN103.3 FM for four seasons. He will continue to serve as Mavs radio voice on regular season and playoff games not being broadcast locally.
Followill made his mark nationally as a play-by-play announcer on selected broadcasts of the NBA on ESPN Radio and was the voice of the network's 2005 WNBA Finals broadcasts. Followill came to the Mavericks after having worked for the seven years at KTCK in Dallas where he co-hosted a nightly talk show, served as sports anchor for the afternoon drive time’s show The Hardline and hosted the Dallas Cowboys pre- and post-game shows from 1995-2000. Followill served as the play-by-play voice for SMU football in 1999 and 2000 on KTCK as well.
Prior to working at KTCK, Followill worked at the Texas State News Network, KTOK in Oklahoma City and KDNT in Denton, Texas. Followill attended North Texas from 1989-92 where he worked at the campus radio station KNTU.
Along with Brad Davis, Followill won awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters for the state’s best play-by-play broadcast in 2004 and 2005 and received a Katie Award from the Press Club of Dallas in 2002 for Best Play-by-Play Sportscast.

Hi Mark, I worked deep nights and would often listen to the Mavs games on the radio at work. I told my husband that listening to you on the radio was like being right there in front of the tv. You were the best. I like your work on tv as well, but you are great on radio.
I was seeing if you would like to play in a golf tournament this Saturday...May 14th...a four man scramble...I need one more player...you can just send me a message....it is $35 for lunch, cart and prizes...at Lake Park Golf Club in Lewisville...
Mark, would it be possible for you to pass along to our friend & Expert Color Commentator BOB, that Nelly and his boy told us going in some 12 years ago that DIRK can master any position on the court, ONE thru FIVE, so please DO NOT remind us! We know Dirk has a 720º windmill dunk & can take off from half court to dunk the ball we don't need to hear that stuff from Bob.
