The Mavericks green game jerseys have a couple of slight variations tonight. The variations commemorate the Dallas Mavericks first ever Christmas tilt.
The most notable variation is the snow flake logo that surrounds the normal NBA Logo on the left shoulder of the jersey.
There is also a “Special Edition: Christmas Day” tag that is added and located above the requisite authentic jersey measurement tag that comes on all NBA jerseys.
Unique in the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks have a special arrangement with a company named MeiGray that authenticates and sells all their game-worn jerseys. The company based in New Jersey has a special system that registers and tracks all the jerseys that they sell. The special registration number is on the white tag below the NBA authentic measurement tag.
A majority of the Mavericks Christmas jerseys will go to MeiGray, but a few will be sent to the NBA for charity auctions on NBA.com.
The Mavericks pre-game shooting shirts also has the snow flake logo that surrounds the normal NBA logo on the chest of the warm up shirt (blue, folded, and hanging on the chair).
Above: Obviously, equipment manager Al Whitley isn’t Dirk Nowitzki, but doesn’t he make a great model? Unfortunately, Al left his matching Christmas hat in his hotel room so it was not available for our shoot.
